Course Data Registration

Getting Started

Register course data and start using the AI Tutor, through the API or with AI tools over MCP

Understanding the AI Tutor

The AI Tutor runs on your course data. Start by uploading your data to the tutor.

You can use the tutor once the uploaded data has been preprocessed.

Key featureDescription
ChatAsk questions about the course and get answers grounded in the course data

QuizzesLearn the course content by solving practice questions
FlashcardsPick up the key terms of the course quickly
Study notesSkim the whole course on a single page of notes

Register with AI tools

Connect the EduTAP MCP server to AI tools such as Claude and Codex, and you can register course data through conversation instead of calling the API directly. Give it a curriculum file and it builds and registers the course information. It also uploads subtitle and material files from your computer.

Installation

You need Node.js 22 or later and an EduTAP API key.

Run the command for your AI tool in a terminal. Replace <API_KEY> with your issued key.

# Claude Code
claude mcp add edutap -e TAP_API_KEY=<API_KEY> -- npx -y @coxwave/tap-mcp
# Codex
codex mcp add edutap --env TAP_API_KEY=<API_KEY> -- npx -y @coxwave/tap-mcp
# Gemini CLI
gemini mcp add -e TAP_API_KEY=<API_KEY> edutap npx -y @coxwave/tap-mcp

For tools such as Claude Desktop and Cursor, add the following to the MCP configuration file.

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "edutap": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@coxwave/tap-mcp"],
      "env": { "TAP_API_KEY": "<API_KEY>" }
    }
  }
}
